I've got the summer blues..

A trend I've been loving all summer has been blue and white, particularly porcelain print dresses and the look of crisp white against denim or chambray. I've put together some of my top picks.

I'm in love with this new collection from Australian label, Casper & Pearl. The label was started by an 18 year old self-taught designer, and is now available in Australia, New Zealand and the US (read the full story here).

I love this time of year, when the days are getting longer and its slowly getting warm enough for bare legs. Its been a while since I've shared an outfit of mine, but I'm hoping now there are more sunshine hours in the day I will be able to fit in a few more. 

Is anyone else finding it crazy how fast this year is going? September is already flying by, and the last few months of the year always seem to go by even quicker! Things get pretty crazy in the lead-up to Christmas. I have actually bought one present already, which is surprising as I don't think I've ever started Christmas shopping earlier than December before! 

Looks like it will be another quite weekend for us, catching up on things we didn't get done during the week. Do you have any special plans?

I absolutely love Alexa Chung's style, she somehow manages to look androgynous and feminine at the same time. I love her cute pinafores, peter pan collars, and how she can make ripped jeans look classy just by pairing them with ballet flats. This is my Alexa inspired outfit - what do you think?

Winter Wishlist: Monochrome

I've never really been a black-and-white kinda girl, but lately I'm lovely the simplicity of black and white. I NEED more stripes in my wardrobe, they go with everything! Its so much easier to pair a black and white piece of clothing with black accessories, than trying to figure out which colour top goes with what, and in what situations its ok to break the rules..

Style Crush: Serena van der Woodsen

I know Blake Lively could make anything look good, but how amazing is Serena's wardrobe!! 

She has the most amazing formal dresses, but she also looks super put together no matter what she's wearing (remember her in Nate's shirt?).  I love the cozy winter outfits she wears, it almost makes me wish it got cold enough for that here!

On the road again

My all-time favourite piece of clothing is a floaty, floral print dress.  I have been living in such dresses all summer. 

The vintage satchel is my favourite bag.  It is genuine leather and New Zealand made.  I picked it up one day when I was tagging along to an auction with my dad.  I basically found it in amongst different pieces of machinery and tools - definitely my luckiest find so far! 

 

I found the denim shirt in the boys section of a small thrift store on our trip down South.  I love it, its nice to throw it on when I need an extra layer but don't want to wear a cardi.
